The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.8.38; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.
Verse 4.8.38
vīre preyaso, yathā —
senānyaṃ vijitam avekṣya bhadrasenaṃ
māṃ yoddhuṃ milasi puraḥ kathaṃ viśāla |
rāmāṇāṃ śatam api nodbhaṭoru-dhāmā
śrīdāmā gaṇayati re tvam atra ko’si ||4.8.38||
atrāpi gauṇe’ṅgini mukhyasya |
Vīra-rasa as aṅgī with sākhya-rasa as aṅga:
“Viśala! Seeing that the commander Bhadrasena has been defeated, why are You coming toward me to fight? Extremely powerful Śrīdāma does not consider even a hundred Balarāmas. What chance do You have in this battle?”
