The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.7.14; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अमी पञ्चैव शान्ताद्या हरेर् भक्ति-रसा मताः ।
एषु हास्यादयः प्रायो बिभ्रति व्यभिचारिताम् ॥४.७.१४॥

amī pañcaiva śāntādyā harer bhakti-rasā matāḥ |
eṣu hāsyādayaḥ prāyo bibhrati vyabhicāritām
||4.7.14||

English translation

“The five primary rasas starting with śānta-rasa are accepted as hari-bhakti-rasa. The secondary ratis generally act as vyabhicārī-bhāvas within the five primary rasas.”

iti śrī-śrī-bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhāv uttara-vibhāge
gauṇa-bhakti-rasa-nirūpaṇe bībhatsa-bhakti-rasa-laharī saptamī ||

“Thus ends the Seventh Wave in the Northern Ocean of Śrī Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu, concerning bībhatsa-bhakti-rasa.”
