The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.7.8; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
घन-रुधिर-मये त्वचा पिनद्धे
पिशित-विमिश्रित-विस्र-गन्ध-भाजि ।
कथम् इह रमतां बुधः शरीरे
भगवति हन्त रतेर् लवे’प्य् उदीर्णे ॥४.७.८॥

yathā —
ghana-rudhira-maye tvacā pinaddhe
piśita-vimiśrita-visra-gandha-bhāji |
katham iha ramatāṃ budhaḥ śarīre
bhagavati hanta rater lave’py udīrṇe

English translation

An example of disgust arising from discrimination:
“When a person develops attraction for the Lord, how can he be attracted to this body made of flesh, smelling of raw meat, composed of thick blood and covered by skin?”
