The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.3.53; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

वैष्णवत्वाद् रतिः कृष्णे क्रियते’नेन सर्वदा ।
कृतात्र द्विज-रूपे च भक्तिस् तेनास्य भक्तता ॥४.३.५३॥

vaiṣṇavatvād ratiḥ kṛṣṇe kriyate’nena sarvadā |
kṛtātra dvija-rūpe ca bhaktis tenāsya bhaktatā
||4.3.53||

English translation

“Since the King was a devotee of the Lord, he always had rati for Kṛṣṇa. Thus in showing bhakti for Kṛṣṇa in the disguised form of a brāhmaṇa, it was still an expression of his bhakti.”
