The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.3.37; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

पुजा-दानं —
पुजा-दानं तु तस्मै यद् विप्र-रूपाय दीयते ॥४.३.३७॥

pujā-dānaṃ
pujā-dānaṃ tu tasmai yad vipra-rūpāya dīyate ||4.3.37||

English translation

“What is given to the Lord Himself, or to his form representing the devatās or the brāhmaṇas is called pujā-dāna.”
