The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.3.25; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ दान-वीरः —
द्वि-विधो दान-वीरः स्याद् एकस् तत्र बहु-प्रदः ।
उपस्थित-दुरापार्थ-त्यागी चापर उच्यते ॥४.३.२५॥

atha dāna-vīraḥ
dvi-vidho dāna-vīraḥ syād ekas tatra bahu-pradaḥ |
upasthita-durāpārtha-tyāgī cāpara ucyate
||4.3.25||

English translation

“There are two types of dāna-vīras: the person who gives in plenty (bahu-prada) and the renounced person who does not want to accept what is given by the Lord (upasthita-durāpārtha-tyāgi).”
