The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.3.8; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

सुहृद्-वरो, यथा —
सखि-प्रकर-मार्गणान् अगणितान् क्षिपन् सर्वतस्
तथाद्य लगुडं क्रमाद् भ्रमयति स्म दामा कृती ।
अमंस्त रचित-स्तुतिर् व्रजपतेस् तनुजो’प्य् अमुं
समृद्ध-पुलको यथा लगुड-पञ्जरान्तः-स्थितम् ॥४.३.८॥

suhṛd-varo, yathā —
sakhi-prakara-mārgaṇān agaṇitān kṣipan sarvatas
tathādya laguḍaṃ kramād bhramayati sma dāmā kṛtī |
amaṃsta racita-stutir vrajapates tanujo’py amuṃ
samṛddha-pulako yathā laguḍa-pañjarāntaḥ-sthitam

English translation

Fighting with His best friends:
“Skillful Śrīdāma stopped the countless arrows with leather tips fired by all his friends by whirling his stick around. The son of Nanda praised him, with hairs standing on end, because it appeared that Śrīdāma was enclosed in a large cage made by the whirling stick.”
