The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.1.10; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
ददामि दधि-फाणितं विवृणु वक्त्रम् इत्य् अग्रतो
निशम्य जरती-गिरं विवृत-कोमलौष्ठे स्थिते ।
तया कुसुमम् अर्पितं नवम् अवेत्य भुग्नानने
हरौ जहसुर् उद्धुरं किम् अपि सुष्ठु गोष्ठार्भकाः ॥४.१.१०॥yathā —
dadāmi dadhi-phāṇitaṃ vivṛṇu vaktram ity agrato
niśamya jaratī-giraṃ vivṛta-komalauṣṭhe sthite |
tayā kusumam arpitaṃ navam avetya bhugnānane
harau jahasur uddhuraṃ kim api suṣṭhu goṣṭhārbhakāḥ ||4.1.10||
English translation
Devotee as ālambana:
“ ‘Open Your mouth. I will give You some yogurt mixed with sugar.’ Hearing the words of the old woman, Kṛṣṇa opened His tender lips, but she put a fresh flower into His mouth. Tasting the bitterness, He puckered His mouth. The young cowherd boys laughed loudly.”
