The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.4.66; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

विषादः —
वदन-कमलं पुत्रस्याहं निमीलति शैशवे
नव-तरुणिमारम्भोन्मृष्टं न रम्यम् अलोकयम् ।
अभिनव-वधू-युक्तं चामुं न हर्म्यम् अवेशयं
शिरसि कुलिशं हन्त क्षिप्तं श्वफल्क-सुतेन मे ॥३.४.६६॥

viṣādaḥ
vadana-kamalaṃ putrasyāhaṃ nimīlati śaiśave
nava-taruṇimārambhonmṛṣṭaṃ na ramyam alokayam |
abhinava-vadhū-yuktaṃ cāmuṃ na harmyam aveśayaṃ
śirasi kuliśaṃ hanta kṣiptaṃ śvaphalka-sutena me
||3.4.66||

English translation

Viṣāda(remorse):
“I have not seen the attractive, shining face of my son in His period of new youth (late kaiśora period) after His childhood. I have not performed the gṛha-praveśa of my son when He got married. Oh! Akrūra has struck my head with a thunderbolt.”
