The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.4.23; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अत्र व्याघ्र-नखं कण्ठे रक्षा-तिलक-मङ्गलम् ।
पट्ट-डोरी कटौ हस्ते सूत्रम् इत्य् आदि मण्डनम् ॥३.४.२३॥

atra vyāghra-nakhaṃ kaṇṭhe rakṣā-tilaka-maṅgalam |
paṭṭa-ḍorī kaṭau haste sūtram ity ādi maṇḍanam
||3.4.23||

English translation

“The ornaments of the kaumāra age are a tiger claw around His neck, tilak for protection, mascara on His eyes, a cord around His waist and a string tied on His wrist.”
