The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.3.49; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अस्य सख्यं, यथा —
शक्तास्मि मानम् अवितुं कथम् उज्ज्वलो’यं
दूतः समेति सखि यत्र मिलत्य् अदूरे ।
सापत्रपापि कुलजापि पतिव्रतापि
का वा वृषस्यति न गोप-वृषं किशोरी ॥३.३.४९॥

asya sakhyaṃ, yathā —
śaktāsmi mānam avituṃ katham ujjvalo’yaṃ
dūtaḥ sameti sakhi yatra milaty adūre |
sāpatrapāpi kulajāpi pativratāpi
kā vā vṛṣasyati na gopa-vṛṣaṃ kiśorī
||3.3.49||

English translation

Ujjvala’s friendship:
“O friend! Not far off, Kṛṣṇa’s messenger Ujjvala is approaching. How will I protect My honor? Is there any chaste, shy, respectable woman here who would remain without desiring the best of cowherd boys, as he approaches?”
