The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.3.44; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation:

एषां सख्यं, यथा —
राधा-सन्देश-वृन्दं कथयति सुबलः पश्य कृष्णस्य कर्णे
श्यामा-कन्दर्प-लेखं निभृतम् उपहरत्य् उज्ज्वलः पाणि-पद्मे ।
पाली-ताम्बूलम् आस्ये वितरति चतुरः कोकिलो मूर्ध्नि धत्ते
तारा-दामेति नर्म-प्रणयि-सहचरास् तन्वि तन्वन्ति सेवाम् ॥३.३.४४॥

eṣāṃ sakhyaṃ, yathā —
rādhā-sandeśa-vṛndaṃ kathayati subalaḥ paśya kṛṣṇasya karṇe
śyāmā-kandarpa-lekhaṃ nibhṛtam upaharaty ujjvalaḥ pāṇi-padme |
pālī-tāmbūlam āsye vitarati caturaḥ kokilo mūrdhni dhatte
tārā-dāmeti narma-praṇayi-sahacarās tanvi tanvanti sevām
||3.3.44||

English translation

Their friendship:
“O thin-waisted woman! Subala is whispering information about Rādhā in Kṛṣṇa’s ear. Ujjvala is handing Śyāma’s love letter to Kṛṣṇa in a solitary place. Catura is offering betel nut given by Pālī into Kṛṣṇa’s mouth. Kokila is

putting a garland sent by Tārā over Kṛṣṇa’s head. In this way the priya- narma-sakhis serve Kṛṣṇa.”
