The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.3.38; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

रमयन्ति प्रिय-सखाः केलिभिर् विविधैः सदा ।
नियुद्ध-दण्ड-युद्धादि-कौतुकैर् अपि केशवम् ॥३.३.३८॥

ramayanti priya-sakhāḥ kelibhir vividhaiḥ sadā |
niyuddha-daṇḍa-yuddhādi-kautukair api keśavam
||3.3.38||

English translation

“The priya-sakhas give pleasure to Kṛṣṇa by hand-to-hand combat, stick fighting and other sports.”
