The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.165; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation:

निर्वेदो, यथा —
धन्यः साम्ब भवान् स-रिङ्गणम् अयन् पार्श्वे रजः-कर्बूरो
यस् तातेन विकृष्य वत्सलतया स्वोत्सङ्गम् आरोपितः ।
धिङ् मां दुर्भगम् अत्र शङ्कर-मयैर् दुर्दैव-विस्फूर्जितैः
प्राप्ता न क्षणिकापि लालन-रतिः सा येन बाल्ये पितुः ॥३.२.१६५॥

nirvedo, yathā —
dhanyaḥ sāmba bhavān sa-riṅgaṇam ayan pārśve rajaḥ-karbūro
yas tātena vikṛṣya vatsalatayā svotsaṅgam āropitaḥ
|
dhiṅ māṃ durbhagam atra śaṅkara-mayair durdaiva-visphūrjitaiḥ
prāptā na kṣaṇikāpi lālana-ratiḥ sā yena bālye pituḥ
||3.2.165||

English translation

Nirveda (self-deprecation):
“O Sāmba! You are very fortunate, because when you crawl to Kṛṣṇa with your body covered with dust, He picks you up with great affection and puts you on His lap. I am unfortunate. Because of the unfortunate actions of the expansions of the demon Śambara, I did not receive that loving care from my father even for a moment.”
