The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.123; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

जडता, यथा —
यौधिष्ठिरं पुरम् उपेयुषि पद्मनाभे
खेदानल-व्यतिकरैर् अतिविक्लवस्य ।
स्वेदाश्रुभिर् न हि परं जलताम् अवापुर्
अङ्गानि निष्क्रियतया च किलोद्धवस्य ॥३.२.१२३॥

jaḍatā, yathā —
yaudhiṣṭhiraṃ puram upeyuṣi padmanābhe
khedānala-vyatikarair ativiklavasya
|
svedāśrubhir na hi paraṃ jalatām avāpur
aṅgāni niṣkriyatayā ca kiloddhavasya
||3.2.123||

English translation

An example of jaḍatā (lack of judgment) in viyoga:
“When Kṛṣṇa went to Indraprastha, Uddhava, disturbed by grief, became wet with tears and perspiration, and ceased to move at all.”
