The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.104; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

निर्वेदो, यथा —
स्फुटं श्रितवतोर् अपि श्रुति-निषेवया श्लाघ्यतां
ममाभव-निरतयोर् भवतु नेत्रयोर् मन्दयोः ।
भवेन् न हि ययोः पदं मधुरिम-श्रियाम् आस्पदं
पदाम्बुजनखाङ्कुराद् अपि विसारि रोचिस् तव ॥३.२.१०४॥

nirvedo, yathā —
sphuṭaṃ śritavator api śruti-niṣevayā ślāghyatāṃ
mamābhava-niratayor bhavatu netrayor mandayoḥ
|
bhaven na hi yayoḥ padaṃ madhurima-śriyām āspadaṃ
padāmbujanakhāṅkurād api visāri rocis tava
||3.2.104||

English translation

Nirveda (self-deprecation) in utkaṇṭhitam:
“Though my eyes are praised because of seeing so many scriptures, they are unfortunate, because they do not see the wealth of sweetness in the form of the effulgence emanating from the toenails of Your lotus feet. Let those eyes be destroyed!”
