The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.78; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

एषा तु सम्भ्रम-प्रीतिः प्राप्नुवत्य् उत्तरोत्तरम् ।
वृद्धिं प्रेमा ततः स्नेहस् ततो राग इति त्रिधा ॥३.२.७८॥

eṣā tu sambhrama-prītiḥ prāpnuvaty uttarottaram |
vṛddhiṃ premā tataḥ snehas tato rāga iti tridhā ||3.2.78||

English translation

Sambhrama-prīti gradually increases in three stages to prema, sneha and finally rāga.”
