The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.26; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ ज्ञानि-चराः —
ये मुमुक्षां परित्यज्य हरिम् एव समाश्रिताः ।
शौनक-प्रमुखास् ते तु प्रोक्ता ज्ञानि-चराः बुधैः ॥३.२.२६॥

atha jñāni-carāḥ —
ye mumukṣāṃ parityajya harim eva samāśritāḥ |
śaunaka-pramukhās te tu proktā jñāni-carāḥ budhaiḥ ||3.2.26||

English translation

Jñānī-caras:
“The sages headed by Śaunaka who gave up the desire for liberation and surrendered to the Lord are called jñāni-caras by the wise.”
