The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.20; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
का पर्येत्य् अम्बिकेयं हरिम् अवकलयन् कम्पते कः शिरो’सौ
तं कः स्तौत्य् एष धाता प्रणमति विलुठन् कः क्षितौ वासवो’यम् ।
कः स्तब्धो हस्यते’द्धा दनुजभिद्-अनुजैः पूर्वजो’यं ममेत्थं
कालिन्दी जाम्बवत्यां त्रिदश-परिचयं जाल-रन्ध्राद् व्यतानीत् ॥३.२.२०॥yathā —
kā paryety ambikeyaṃ harim avakalayan kampate kaḥ śiro’sau
taṃ kaḥ stauty eṣa dhātā praṇamati viluṭhan kaḥ kṣitau vāsavo’yam |
kaḥ stabdho hasyate’ddhā danujabhid-anujaiḥ pūrvajo’yaṃ mametthaṃ
kālindī jāmbavatyāṃ tridaśa-paricayaṃ jāla-randhrād vyatānīt ||3.2.20||
English translation
Jāmbhavatī asked Kālindī: “Who is that person who is circumambulating the Lord?”
Kālindī replied: “It is Durgā.”
Jāmbhavatī said: “Who is that person who is shaking on seeing the Lord?”
Kālindī said: “It is Śiva.”
Jāmbhavatī said: “Who is that person who is praising the Lord?”
Kālindī said: “It is Brahmā.”
Jāmbhavatī said: “Who is that lying on the ground offering respects?”
Kālindī said: “It is Indra.”
Jāmbhavatī said: “Who is that who has become stunned, thereby becoming the object of laughter by the young members?”
Kālindī said: “It is Yama, my elder brother.”
In this way Kālindī introduced the devatās to Jāmbhavatī while peering through the latticework.
