The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.19; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र अधिकृताः —
ब्रह्म-शङ्कर-शक्राद्याः प्रोक्ता अधिकृता बुधैः ।
रूपं प्रसिद्धम् एवैषां तेन भक्तिर् उदीर्यते ॥३.२.१९॥

tatra adhikṛtāḥ —
brahma-śaṅkara-śakrādyāḥ proktā adhikṛtā budhaiḥ |
rūpaṃ prasiddham evaiṣāṃ tena bhaktir udīryate ||3.2.19||

English translation

“The wise say that Brahmā, Śaṅkara, Indra and others are called adhikṛta (appointed) dāsas. Since their forms are well-known, only their bhakti will be described.”
