The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.1.50; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

स्थायिनम् एके तु निर्वेद-स्थायिनं परे ।
शान्तम् एव रसं पूर्वे प्राहुर् एकम् अनेकधा ॥३.१.५०॥

sthāyinam eke tu nirveda-sthāyinaṃ pare |
śāntam eva rasaṃ pūrve prāhur ekam anekadhā ||3.1.50||

English translation

“The previous scholars have described many types of śānta-rasa, saying that dhṛti or nirveda can also be the sthāyī-bhāva of śānta-rasa.”
