The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.1.35; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ स्थायी —
अत्र शान्ति-रतिः स्थायी समा सान्द्रा च सा द्विधा ॥३.१.३५॥

atha sthāyī —
atra śānti-ratiḥ sthāyī samā sāndrā ca sā dvidhā ||3.1.35||

English translation

Sthāyī-bhāva:
“The sthāyī-bhāva in śānta-rasa is śānta-rati. It has two types: sama (ordinary) and sāndra (intense).”
