The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.1.5; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

प्रायः स्वसुख-जातीयं सुखं स्याद् अत्र योगिनाम् ।
किन्त्व् आत्म-सौख्यम् अघनं घनं त्व् ईशम् अयं सुखम् ॥३.१.५॥

prāyaḥ svasukha-jātīyaṃ sukhaṃ syād atra yoginām |
kintv ātma-saukhyam aghanaṃ ghanaṃ tv īśam ayaṃ sukham ||3.1.5||

English translation

“Generally these practitioners possess the happiness of impersonal Brahman, realizing it as the cause of everything. However, such impersonal happiness is dilute, whereas the happiness related to the Lord with form and qualities is intense.”
