The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.1.2; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

रसामृताब्धेर् भागे’त्र तृतीये पश्चिमाभिधे ।
मुख्यो भक्ति-रसः पञ्चविधः शान्तादीर् ईर्यते ॥३.१.२॥

rasāmṛtābdher bhāge’tra tṛtīye paścimābhidhe |
mukhyo bhakti-rasaḥ pañcavidhaḥ śāntādīr īryate ||3.1.2||

English translation

“In the third section of this book, called the Western Ocean of sweet rasa, the five types of primary rasa, beginning with śānta, are discussed.”
