The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.131; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

सर्वथैव दुरूहो’यम् अभक्तैर् भगवद्-रसः ।
तत्-पादाम्बुज-सर्वस्वैर् भक्तैर् एवानुरस्यते ॥२.५.१३१॥

sarvathaiva durūho’yam abhaktair bhagavad-rasaḥ |
tat-pādāmbuja-sarvasvair bhaktair evānurasyate
||2.5.131||

English translation

Rasa directed toward the Lord is very difficult to understand for those with no devotion. Those who have dedicated themselves to the lotus feet of Bhagavān can taste bhakti-rasa.”
