The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.118; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

श्वेतश् चित्रो’रुणः शोणः श्यामः पाण्डुर-पिङ्गलौ ।
गौरो धूम्रस् तथा रक्तः कालो नीतः क्रमाद् अमी ॥२.५.११८॥

śvetaś citro’ruṇaḥ śoṇaḥ śyāmaḥ pāṇḍura-piṅgalau |
gauro dhūmras tathā raktaḥ kālo nītaḥ kramād amī
||2.5.118||

English translation

The twelve rasas have twelve colors as follows: white (śānta), multicolored (prīti), saffron (preyān or sakhya), crimson (vatsala), indigo (madhura), light yellow (hāsya), yellow-green (adbhuta), gold (vīra), purple (karuṇa), red (raudra), black (bhayānaka) and blue (bībhatsa).
