The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.117; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

एवं भक्ति-रसो भेदाद् द्वयोर् द्वादशधोच्यते ।
वस्तुतस् तु पुराणादौ पञ्चधैव विलोक्यते ॥२.५.११७॥

evaṃ bhakti-raso bhedād dvayor dvādaśadhocyate |
vastutas tu purāṇādau pañcadhaiva vilokyate
||2.5.117||

English translation

“Thus there are a total of twelve primary and secondary rasas, but only five are mentioned in the Purāṇas.”
