The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.104; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

दुःखादयः स्फुरन्त्यो’पि जातु भान्तः स्वीयतया हृदि ।
प्रौढानन्द-चमत्कार-चर्वणाम् एव तन्वते ॥२.५.१०४॥

duḥkhādayaḥ sphurantyo’pi jātu bhāntaḥ svīyatayā hṛdi |
prauḍhānanda-camatkāra-carvaṇām eva tanvate
||2.5.104||

English translation

“Though previous devotees’ sufferings appear in the heart of the present devotee as his own suffering, those sufferings also produce an astonishing taste of intense bliss.”
