The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.103; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तद् उक्तं श्री-भरतेन —
शक्तिर् अस्ति विभावादेः कापि साधारणी-कृतौ ।
प्रमाता तद्-अभेदेन स्वं यया प्रतिपद्यते ॥२.५.१०३॥

tad uktaṃ śrī-bharatena —
śaktir asti vibhāvādeḥ kāpi sādhāraṇī-kṛtau |
pramātā tad-abhedena svaṃ yayā pratipadyate
||2.5.103||

English translation

Bharata Muni has said:
“In the matter of identification, there is an indescribable power in vibhāva and the other elements, by which the audience becomes nondifferent from the characters depicted on the stage.”
