The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.95; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा स्वैर् एव सलिलैः परिपूर्य बलाहकान् ।
रत्नालयो भवत्य् एभिर् वृष्टैस् तैर् एव वारिधिः ॥२.५.९५॥

yathā svair eva salilaiḥ paripūrya balāhakān |
ratnālayo bhavaty ebhir vṛṣṭais tair eva vāridhiḥ
||2.5.95||

English translation

“It is similar to the ocean which, nourishing the clouds by its water, nourishes itself by the rain coming from those clouds.”
