The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.79; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

रतिर् द्विधापि कृष्णाद्यैः श्रुतैर् अवगतैः स्मृतैः ।
तैर् विभावादितां यद्भिस् तद्-भक्तेषु रसो भवेत् ॥२.५.७९॥

ratir dvidhāpi kṛṣṇādyaiḥ śrutair avagataiḥ smṛtaiḥ |
tair vibhāvāditāṃ yadbhis tad-bhakteṣu raso bhavet
||2.5.79||

English translation

“The primary and secondary ratis produce vibhāvas, anubhāvas, sāttvika- bhāvas and vyabhicārī-bhāvas through hearing about, experiencing or remembering Kṛṣṇa. All these combine to become rasa in devotees.”
