रतित्वात् प्रथमैकैव सप्त हासादयस् तथा ।
इत्य् अष्टौ स्थायिनो यावद् रसावस्थां न संश्रिताः ॥२.५.७३॥ratitvāt prathamaikaiva sapta hāsādayas tathā |
ity aṣṭau sthāyino yāvad rasāvasthāṃ na saṃśritāḥ ||2.5.73||
English translation
“As long as one among the five primary ratis along with the seven secondary ratis does not attain the state of rasa in an individual, the eight are called sthāyī-bhāvas.”
