The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.71; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ जुगुप्सा-रतिः —
जुगुप्सा स्याद् अहृद्यानुभवाच् चित्त-निमीलनम् ।
तत्र निष्ठीवनं वक्त्र-कूणनं कुत्सनादयः ।
रतेर् अनुग्रहाज् जाता सा जुगुप्सा-रतिर् मता ॥२.५.७१॥

atha jugupsā-ratiḥ
jugupsā syād ahṛdyānubhavāc citta-nimīlanam |
tatra niṣṭhīvanaṃ vaktra-kūṇanaṃ kutsanādayaḥ |
rater anugrahāj jātā sā jugupsā-ratir matā
||2.5.71||

English translation

Jugupsā-rati:
“Restriction of the heart arising from experiencing disgusting things is called jugupsā or disgust. In this state spitting, curling of the lips and uttering contemptuous words manifest. When jugupsā appears because of rati, it is called jugupsā-rati.”
