The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.50; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

सप्त हासादयस् त्व् एते तैस् तैर् नीताः सुपुष्टताम् ।
भक्तेषु स्थायितां यान्तो रुचिर् एभ्यो वितन्वते ॥२.५.५०॥

sapta hāsādayas tv ete tais tair nītāḥ supuṣṭatām |
bhakteṣu sthāyitāṃ yānto rucir ebhyo vitanvate
||2.5.50||

English translation

“The seven secondary emotions, being nourished greatly by vibhāvas, anubhāvas, sāttvika-bhāvas and vyabhicārī-bhāvas, take up the status of sthāyī-bhāvas in the devotees and produce a taste in the devotees.”
