The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.46; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation:

काप्य् अव्यभिचरन्ती सा स्वाधारान् स्व-स्वरूपतः ।
रतिर् आत्यन्तिक-स्थायी भावो भक्त-जने’ खिले ।
स्युर् एतस्या विना-भावाद् भावाः सर्वे निरर्थकाः ॥२.५.४६॥

kāpy avyabhicarantī sā svādhārān sva-svarūpataḥ |
ratir ātyantika-sthāyī bhāvo bhakta-jane’ khile |
syur etasyā vinā-bhāvād bhāvāḥ sarve nirarthakāḥ
||2.5.46||

English translation

“When the primary rati in its essential form does not leave the devotee, it is considered to be the continuous or ātyantika-sthāyī-bhāva. This is present in all types of devotees. Without the continuous sthāyī-bhāva, all the other bhāvas such hāsa are dysfunctional.”
