The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.36; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

मिथो हरेर् मृगाक्ष्याश् च सम्भोगस्यादि-कारणम् ।
मधुरापर-पर्याया प्रियताख्योदिता रतिः ।
अस्यां कटाक्ष-भ्रू-क्षेप-प्रिय-वाणी-स्मितादयः ॥२.५.३६॥

mitho harer mṛgākṣyāś ca sambhogasyādi-kāraṇam |
madhurāpara-paryāyā priyatākhyoditā ratiḥ |
asyāṃ kaṭākṣa-bhrū-kṣepa-priya-vāṇī-smitādayaḥ
||2.5.36||

English translation

Priyatā-rati:
“That rati found in the doe-eyed women and which is the root cause of eight types of enjoyment between the women and Kṛṣṇa is called priyatā-rati. It is also called madhurya-rati. In this rati, there are sidelong glances, moving the eyebrows, affectionate words and slight smiles, etc.”
