The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.31; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
मां पुष्पितारण्य-दिदृक्षयागतं
निमेष-विश्लेष-विदीर्ण-मानसाः ।
ते संस्पृशन्तः पुलकाञ्चित-श्रियो
दूराद् अहंपूर्विकयाद्य रेमिरे ॥२.५.३१॥

yathā —
māṃ puṣpitāraṇya-didṛkṣayāgataṃ
nimeṣa-viśleṣa-vidīrṇa-mānasāḥ |
te saṃspṛśantaḥ pulakāñcita-śriyo
dūrād ahaṃpūrvikayādya remire
||2.5.31||

English translation

An example:
“Today, when I went to see the flowering forests of Vṛndāvan, My friends were suffering by even a moment’s separation from Me. From far off, they said, ‘I will be touched by Him first! I will be touched by Him first!’ With hairs standing on end, they played in this way.”
