The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.5.9; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र सामान्या —
कञ्चिद् विशेषम् अप्राप्ता साधारण-जनस्य या ।
बालिकदैश् च कृष्णे स्यात् सामान्या सा रतिर् मता ॥२.५.९॥

tatra sāmānyā
kañcid viśeṣam aprāptā sādhāraṇa-janasya yā |
bālikadaiś ca kṛṣṇe syāt sāmānyā sā ratir matā
||2.5.9||

English translation

Sāmānya-śuddha-rati:
The rati manifested in ordinary people and children for Kṛṣṇa is called sāmānya-rati or ordinary rati. It does not have the distinguishing qualities of even svaccha-rati or śānta-rati.
