The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.205; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

परतन्त्राः स्वतन्त्राश् चेत्य् उक्ताः सञ्चारिणो द्विधा ॥२.४.२०५॥

paratantrāḥ svatantrāś cety uktāḥ sañcāriṇo dvidhā ||2.4.205||

English translation

“The vyābhicārī-bhāvas may be either dependent upon or independent [of the primary and secondary ratis].”
