The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.203; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

साक्षाद्-रतेर् न सम्बन्धः षड्भिस् त्रासादिभिः सह ।
स्यात् परस्परया किन्तु लीलानुगुणताकृते ॥२.४.२०३॥

sākṣād-rater na sambandhaḥ ṣaḍbhis trāsādibhiḥ saha |
syāt parasparayā kintu līlānuguṇatākṛte
||2.4.203||

English translation

Rati has no direct relationship with the six vyābhicārī-bhāvas just mentioned. Rati has a relationship with them only because they support rati for encouraging pastimes.”
