The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.176; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

युक्तास्य स्फूर्ति-मात्रेण निर्विशेषेण केनचित् ।
हृन्-मीलनात् पुरो’वस्था निद्रा भक्तेषु कथ्यते ॥२.४.१७६॥

yuktāsya sphūrti-mātreṇa nirviśeṣeṇa kenacit |
hṛn-mīlanāt puro’vasthā nidrā bhakteṣu kathyate
||2.4.176||

English translation

“The state just prior to extinguishing of consciousness, in which there is appearance of Kṛṣṇa without particular pastimes, is called nidrā for the devotees.”
