The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.145; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र ज्ञानेन, यथा वैराग्य-शतके (५५) भर्तृहरिः —
अश्नीमहि वयं भिक्षाम् आशावासो वसीमहि ।
शयीमहि मही-पृष्ठे कुर्वीमहि किम् ईश्वरैः ॥२.४.१४५॥

tatra jñānena, yathā vairāgya-śatake (55) bhartṛhariḥ
aśnīmahi vayaṃ bhikṣām āśāvāso vasīmahi |
śayīmahi mahī-pṛṣṭhe kurvīmahi kim īśvaraiḥ
||2.4.145||

English translation

Dhṛti from attaining realization of the Lord, from Bhartṛhari’s Vairāgya-śataka:
“When I attain knowledge of the Lord, I will eat only begged food and live without clothing. I will sleep on the ground. What is the necessity of serving the king or other authorities?”
