The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.129; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ (२०) स्मृतिः —
या स्यात् पूर्वानुभूतार्थ-प्रतीतिः सदृशेक्षया ।
दृढ्याभ्यासादिना वापि सा स्मृतिः परिकीर्तिता ।
भवेद् अत्र शिरः-कम्पो भ्रू-विक्षेपादयो’पि च ॥२.४.१२९॥

atha (20) smṛtiḥ
yā syāt pūrvānubhūtārtha-pratītiḥ sadṛśekṣayā |
dṛḍhyābhyāsādinā vāpi sā smṛtiḥ parikīrtitā |
bhaved atra śiraḥ-kampo bhrū-vikṣepādayo’pi ca
||2.4.129||

English translation

“Scrutiny of previous experience, that arises from strict practice or from
seeing similar objects, is called smṛti (remembrance). In this state, shaking the head and moving the brows occur.”
