The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.124; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

जैह्म्य-ह्रीभ्यां, यथा —
का वृषस्यति तं गोष्ठ-भुजङ्गं कुल-पालिका ।
दूति यत्र स्मृते मूर्तिर् भीत्या रोमाञ्चिता मम ॥२.४.१२४॥

jaihmya-hrībhyāṃ, yathā —
kā vṛṣasyati taṃ goṣṭha-bhujaṅgaṃ kula-pālikā |
dūti yatra smṛte mūrtir bhītyā romāñcitā mama
||2.4.124||

English translation

Concealment from deceit and bashfulness:
“O messenger! Will a respectable woman desire such a snake among cowherds? Remembering Him, the hairs of my body are standing on end out of fear.”
