The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.115; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अकार्येण, यथा —
त्वम् अवाग् इह मा शिरः कृथा
वदनं च त्रपया शची-पते ।
नय कल्प-तरुं न चेच् छचीं
कथम् अग्रे मुखम् ईक्षयिष्यसि ॥२.४.११५॥

akāryeṇa, yathā —
tvam avāg iha mā śiraḥ kṛthā
vadanaṃ ca trapayā śacī-pate |
naya kalpa-taruṃ na cec chacīṃ
katham agre mukham īkṣayiṣyasi
||2.4.115||

English translation

Shame arising from forbidden activities:
“O Indra! You should not hang down your head in shame and remain silent. Take the parijāta tree and go. Otherwise how can you show your face to your wife?”
