The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.114; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र नवीन-सङ्गमेन, यथा पद्यावल्याम् (१९८) —
गोविन्दे स्वयम् अकरोः सरोज-नेत्रे
प्रेमान्धा वर-वपुर् अर्पणं सखि ।
कार्पण्यं न कुरु दरावलोक-दाने
विक्रीते करिणि किम् अङ्कुशे विवादः ॥२.४.११४॥tatra navīna-saṅgamena, yathā padyāvalyām (198) —
govinde svayam akaroḥ saroja-netre
premāndhā vara-vapur arpaṇaṃ sakhi |
kārpaṇyaṃ na kuru darāvaloka-dāne
vikrīte kariṇi kim aṅkuśe vivādaḥ ||2.4.114||
English translation
Vrīḍā from meeting the Lord for the first time, from Padyāvalī:
“O lotus-eyed friend! Blinded with love, you have offered your beautiful body to Govinda. O friend! Do not be miserly by showing yourself to Him only a little. The purchased elephant does not quarrel with the goad.”
