The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.103; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ (१६) आलस्यम् —
सामर्थ्यस्यापि सद्-भावे क्रियानुन्मुखता हि या ।
तृप्ति-श्रमादि-सम्भूता तद्-आलस्यम् उदीर्यते ॥२.४.१०३॥

atha (16) ālasyam —
sāmarthyasyāpi sad-bhāve kriyānunmukhatā hi yā |
tṛpti-śramādi-sambhūtā tad-ālasyam udīryate
||2.4.103||

English translation

“Lack of enthusiasm to perform activities because of satiation or fatigue, even though one has the ability to do them, is called ālasya.”
