The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.95; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. विश्लेषाद्, यथा हंसदूते (४) —
कदाचित् खेदाग्निं विघटयितुम् अन्तर्-गतम् असौ
सहालीभिर् लेभे तरलित-मना यामुन-तटीम् ।
चिराद् अस्याश् चित्तं परिचित-कुटीर-कलनाद्
अवस्था तस्तार स्फुटम् अथ सुषुप्तेः प्रिय-सखी ॥२.४.९५॥viśleṣād, yathā haṃsadūte (4) —
kadācit khedāgniṃ vighaṭayitum antar-gatam asau
sahālībhir lebhe taralita-manā yāmuna-taṭīm |
cirād asyāś cittaṃ paricita-kuṭīra-kalanād
avasthā tastāra sphuṭam atha suṣupteḥ priya-sakhī ||2.4.95||
English translation
Moha arising from separation, from Haṃsadūta:
“Once Rādhā, to assuage the fire of separation in Her heart, went to the bank of the Yamunā with Her friends, but seeing the there the familiar bower of creepers, Her heart became covered with a blank state of mind—which was Her dear friend, like deep sleep.”
