The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.87; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
फेनायते प्रतिपदं क्षिपते भुजोर्मिम्
आघूर्णते लुठति कुजति लीयते च ।
अम्बा तवाद्य विरहे चिरम् अम्बुराज-
बेलेव वृष्णि-तिलक व्रज-राज-राज्ञी ॥२.४.८७॥

yathā —
phenāyate pratipadaṃ kṣipate bhujormim
āghūrṇate luṭhati kujati līyate ca |
ambā tavādya virahe ciram amburāja-
beleva vṛṣṇi-tilaka vraja-rāja-rājñī
||2.4.87||

English translation

An example:
“O best of the Yadus! Now our mother Yaśodā, because of pain sue to separation from You for a long time, is foaming at the mouth like the shore of the ocean. Her arms are moving about like waves in the ocean. She sometimes whirls about, sometimes rolls on the ground, makes sounds and sometimes remains motionless.”
