घोर-सत्त्वेन, यथा —
अदूरम् आसेदुषि वल्लवाङ्गना
स्वं पुङ्गवीकृत्य सुरारि-पुङ्गवे ।
कृष्ण-भ्रमेणाशु तरङ्गद्-अङ्गिका
तमालम् आलिङ्ग्य बभूव निश्चला ॥२.४.५६॥ghora-sattvena, yathā —
adūram āseduṣi vallavāṅganā
svaṃ puṅgavīkṛtya surāri-puṅgave |
kṛṣṇa-bhrameṇāśu taraṅgad-aṅgikā
tamālam āliṅgya babhūva niścalā ||2.4.56||
English translation
Terror from ferocious beasts:
“When Vṛṣāsura approached, taking the form of a bull, some of the gopīs began to tremble. Suddenly embracing a tamāla tree, mistaking it for Kṛṣṇa, they could not move.”
